RN to BSN Curriculum

• 120 credits total, many of which may be transferred to Ohio University if completed at a previous institution of study.
• Only 9 nursing courses (31 credit hours) are required to be completed at OHIO
• No expiration dates or limits to the number of units that can be transferred into our program
• Students can pursue our program at their own pace

Admitted students have the opportunity to review previous transcripts and coursework for applicable transferable credits; this generates an individualized report of the remaining courses needed to complete the BSN degree. Thirty credit hours of the 120 total must be completed with Ohio University, referred to as residency hours. The baccalaureate degree program in nursing (including both RN to BSN and traditional BSN tracks) at Ohio University is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

Ohio University is also accredited as a whole by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), formerly the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Institutions of Higher Education. Through the RN to BSN Nursing Knowledge Center, students in the online RN to BSN program are also equipped with the resources and links they use most often, such as information on how to register, course offerings, and the GO OHIO app.

Online Admission Requirements

Students applying to Ohio’s online RN to BSN program must meet the following criteria:

• Associate degree or diploma in Nursing

• Grade point average of 2.0 or higher

• Resident with an active unencumbered RN license in Ohio, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, Washington, D.C. or Wyoming.

• A Non-degree Nursing Early Start Program is available to help students earn a bachelor's degree faster.

• Students can apply for the program as long as they can provide a date and location of NCLEX
